Bob Williams watches the sunset from Mt. Shasta, CA (5/85).
Mt. Shasta is one of the greatest peaks in the country for ski mountaineering,
I used to visit it every spring. On this trip we started at Bunny Flat
but contoured left, eventually to the Shasta-Shastina Saddle. It was
extremely windy at the campsite in this photo (tent visible middle-left).
We did not climb Shasta itself during this trip due to high winds, but
we did climb Shastina, which probably sees 1/100th the ascents that Shasta
does.
